Electronic correlation is the central theme of this group, which has three main components : method development, implementation of the methods into computer software and the application of these methods.

THEO has several subgroups working on the following topics :

* Localization and linear scaling configuration interaction

* Quantum Monte Carlo Methods

* Relativity
